Artist Statement

My practice unfolds at the intersection of mosaic and painting, where gesture and material act as equal carriers of meaning. The tessera becomes a petrified brushstroke — a fragment of movement embedded in matter, shaping the surface through rhythm, direction and energy.
The works emerge as hybrid forms that move beyond the traditional boundaries of painting, sculpture and mosaic. Through layered reliefs of color, cement and light, each stratum introduces a new gesture, texture and spatial tension, allowing time and perception to crystallize within the work.
Inspired by nature and by fleeting moments of light, the works explore the subtle balances and rhythms that shape our perceptual experience. The gesture does not disappear; it remains embedded in matter as a trace and memory of movement, allowing time and perception to crystallize within the work itself.
Through these works, I investigate the interaction between matter, light and movement, creating forms that respond to time, memory and our sensory presence in the world.
